The Catherine Hamlin Fistula Foundation is an independent charity established in Australia to raise funds for Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia, to eradicate obstetric fistula using the Hamlin Model of Care.

Yes. Dr Catherine Hamlin was our Founder and Patron. Catherine passed away in March 2020 at age 96. We exist to fulfil her vision to eradicate fistula. Forever.

Yes. All donations over $2 are tax-deductible in Australia

Yes. For a single donation made online in Australia you will receive an email receipt within 48 hours. For regular gifts you will receive an annual tax receipt sent in the post in July.

Donors in the USA will receive their tax receipt from Friends Fund at Myriad USA (formerly King Baudouin Foundation United States (KBFUS) at the time of their donation.

Donors in Canada will receive their tax receipt from Myriad Canada (formerly KBF Foundation Canada) at the time of their donation.

For every $1 donated, 70 cents goes directly towards Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia’s programs for the treatment and prevention of obstetric fistula, 13 cents is necessary for accountability and administration and 17 cents is invested in fundraising efforts which allows us to help even more women in future years.

No. There is no need to update your Will. Bequests made to Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia (Australia) are received by Catherine Hamlin Fistula Foundation and remitted to Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia.

If you decide to leave a gift in your Will, please let us know so we can thank you, record your planned gift and ensure you receive regular updates about the programs your gift will support.

Yes. You can leave this instruction in your Will and we will ensure your wishes are followed. All gifts in Will made or notified prior to 31 December 2017 are automatically restricted for Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia.

Yes, the financial accounts are independently audited annually.
