Your Support Makes a Big Impact!

When you join a Hamlin Ethiopian Adventure you embark on a remarkable journey to discover your inner philanthropist!

The vital funds you raise will support the life-changing work of Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia, which has a profoundly positive impact on women and their communities.

How Your Fundraising Helps

Your fundraising of $4,000 or more will go a long way in Ethiopia. It can fund life-changing surgery for multiple patients - ending their suffering, restoring their dignity and giving them a second chance to live to their full potential.

It can help fund a one-year scholarship for a student at the Hamlin College of Midwives, who will go back to her village and help the women in her area to give birth safely.

People like you make our important work for women possible. Remember, the Hamlin team is always on hand to help you reach your fundraising goal.

This experience has been totally amazing! I have always been interested in the development of countries and how they develop. To come and see not only what is happening but also the amazing strides being made by the Catherine Hamlin Foundation is so encouraging.

Because of You

Asegedech suffered with a fistula injury for 20 long years. She hid away at home, never visiting relatives or neighbours.

It is thanks to people like you that she was finally cured at Hamlin's Addis Ababa fistula hospital.

Following surgery, Asegedech trained in embroidery at Desta Mender, Hamlin's rehabilitation centre. Importantly, she was able to connect with other women. When she left, she received seed money to start her own business.

By fundraising for your trip, you will help more women like Asegedech heal and return to their communities empowered and able to support themselves and their families.

After the treatment my life has been transformed. I can go anywhere I want, move freely and do anything.

Meet Dagmawit

Dagmawit, a Hamlin Midwife, works in the Teticha Hamlin-supported midwifery clinic and safely delivers an average of 25 babies a week.

The impact of a Hamlin midwife like Dagmawit is remarkable – when she arrives at a Hamlin-supported midwifery clinic, new cases of obstetric fistula drop to almost zero in nearby villages.

Based in more than 90 Hamlin-supported midwifery clinics across rural Ethiopia, they support, nurture and empower women.
