Why I am fundraising
On Saturday 13th September we did 25km for the Hamlin Barefoot Walk! We're raising money to help treat Ethiopian women suffering from a preventable childbirth injury - obstetric fistula. Affected women suffer incontinence, shame and social segregation. AUD$1500 is the cost of the life-changing surgery at one of six Hamlin fistula hospitals in Ethiopia, started by Australian legend Catherine Hamlin and her husband. Please donate to this worthy cause! Every step counts. Every dollar counts. Every woman matters.

On Saturday we - Katerina, Marlies, Kath, Bec and I - walked 25km barefoot on the beach from Dromana to Safety Beach and back to Rye Pier! We are so grateful for everyone's donations towards our goal of $1500 for the Hamlin Foundation to keep treating Ethiopian women for obstetric fistula. The sand was gritty but not too bad, and we saw black swans, starfish, giant ships, birds flying overhead in a V, happy dogs, crazy jet skis and the turquoise ocean vista. What a great day for a great cause!
