Why I am fundraising
Just imagine it's your mother, sister or daughter... 💔 Enduring days of agonising labour, before delivering a stillborn baby and sustaining a horrific injury - fistula 💔 Leaking urine uncontrollably because of fistula, and being ostracised by your community 💔 Walking barefoot for 25 km over difficult terrain to receive medical care 💔 Feeling immense physical and emotional pain 💔 Often doing all the above, alone. This is the reality for many Ethiopian women who live in isolated rural villages. But it only takes $1500 for an operation to cure fistula. On September 13th I'm aiming to walk 25km and raise funds for the Hamlin Barefoot Walk, to help change the life of one woman. Can you donate, please? Every step counts. Every dollar counts. Every woman matters.

Hills Women had an excellent 25km coastal walk for Hamlin on the sand and foreshore with just a few blisters at the end! We talked, saw seagulls, lovely shells, fellow walkers, black swans, a lighthouse and sea birds flying in a V overhead. Such a good day for a great cause!
