Why Am I Fundraising

I consider a safe birth a human right like clean water and sanitation. That's not the case for many women in Ethiopia, who can endure extremely long labour, often ending with the mother becoming permanently incontinent(due to obstetric fistula) and the baby being stillborn. The Hamlin Fistula Hospitals are changing all that, providing free surgery to repair the fistula, physiotherapy and vocational skills for when they return to their community. All part of treating the patients with love and tender care. After my walking quest in 2024, and barefoot walking in 2025, this year my challenge is to walk 50km in a day on Saturday 29 August and with your help, raise money to support the work of healing some of the world's most vulnerable women. Training has started. Please help me to reach my goal to provide life changing surgery for obstetric fistula patients.
